Manchester United Fail To Lift 20th League Title

Manchester United were shorn of the league title in the final minute of the Premier League season by Manchester City, in spite of earning themselves a contented and justified 1-0 win against Sunderland with Wayne Rooney header.

Through chances at finest, United contentedly closed the game out in the second half, with Sunderland hardly ever ever looking like scoring.

As the final whistle went-off, the proceedings at the Etihad Stadium began to come to light with the astounding news that Sergio Aguero had netted a breathtaking last-minute winner to filch the title right out of United's clasp in the final minute of the season.

Ferguson's side saw the final minutes out at ease, and their fans celebrated the final whistle, knowing only a phenomenon at Eastlands could refute them their 20th league title.

Sir Alex Ferguson said "On behalf of Manchester United I'd like to say congratulations to our neighbours. It's a fantastic achievement to win this league.

"Our rich history stands us aside, it's better than anyone. It would take City a century to get our level of history."

"The young lads will remember today. Sometimes a bad experience is better for you; you shouldn't fear the future and these lads won't."

We have a challenge but we're good at challenges and we'll kick on from here."

"We take great credit from the fact that we have had so many injuries this season and we've coped with that very well. They are only young players, it was excellent for them,"

"They've experienced what has happened today and they'll be around in five, six or 10 years time for Manchester United. The experience is good for them, even if it's a bad one."

Unbelievably, City's prayers were answered and United were left confounded.
