AC Milan's World Cup-winning defender Alessandro Nesta confirmed that he will renounce the Serie A side after ten years with conjecture rife that and proposes to join MLS side New York Red Bulls.
The 36-year-old defender commenced his career with Lazio and helped Milan win two Champions League finals and two Serie A titles in the last decade.

He said "This is my last season at Milan,"
"I have taken stock, and the rhythm of Serie A, the Champions League and the Italian Cup meant I couldn't play all the time.
"It doesn't suit me to sit on the bench and if I don't feel important I prefer to stay at home."
There have been assumptions that Nesta, who was the part of the Italian World Cup-winning squad in 2006, will shift to the United States to play in the Major Soccer League, with the New York Red Bulls.
He said "I don't know where I'm going to go, I haven't signed with anyone, but I know that I'm leaving a great club where I had a great experience,"
"Going there [the USA] wouldn't be bad, I would gladly go there, it would be a great experience."
"I'll miss everyone," he said. "I want to thank everyone that works at Milanello (Milan's training ground). And naturally I will miss my old team mates like (Massimo) Ambrosini, [Gennaro] Gattuso, (Clarence) Seedorf, (Paolo) Maldini, (Alessandro) Costacurta and Andrea (Pirlo). I came to Milan as a Roman and I felt better here than at home."
Alessandro Nesta's career has been inundated by injuries from the time when Italy's victorious 2006 World Cup campaign in Germany.
