Spurs coast to first win under AVB

Latest Tottenham import Gylfi Sigurdsson scored 10 minutes into his Tottenham debut to give Andre Villas-Boas his first win in charge of the London based Premier League side.

Former Chelsea boss Villas-Boas picked a strong side with five England internationals in his line-up.

But Sigurdsson and fellow half-time sub Jan Vertonghen proved the difference as they guided Spurs past their League One opponents.

Until the goal Tottenham had looked short of ideas.

And it is hardly surprising AVB is looking to add more strikers to his squad with youngster Harry Kane his only option here.

Sigurdsson took his chance superbly, finding the far corner after Andros Townsend had pulled the ball back.

Then he had a hand in the move that ended with Yago Falque scoring a late goal to give Spurs a 2-0 win.
