Valencia have found an alternate for Unai Emery in former player Mauricio Pellegrino. Former Valencia defender Pellegrino will manage the club for two years starting next season. He has been the assistant coach at Liverpool and Inter Milan before.
Valencia have been hunting for a new man to guide the club from the time when Unai Emery made it public that he would be departing from the club at the end of the season. The club is certain on Pellegrino regardless of the fact that he has never managed before.

Mauricio Pellegrino spent six years at the Mestalla after parting ways with Barcelona where he helped Los Che to win two La Liga titles and a UEFA Cup title. The Argentine might be most renowned for missing a penalty in the 2001 Champions League final, but he was still a key member of some of Valencia's greatest teams ever.
After retiring in 2006, Pellegrino got a spot in the coaching staff at Liverpool, under Rafael Benitez. He then tracked Benitez to Internazionale.
Unai Emery guided Valencia to a second successive third place finish this season. He announced after losing to Atletico Madrid in the Europa Cup semifinal that he would leave the club after the season.
Mauricio Pellegrino will unquestionably have some big shoes to fill because Emery is considered one of the best young managers in the world and expectations are high with the Champions League on spout next season.
With players like Jordi Alba, Ever Banega, Roberto Soldado, Jeremy Mathieu and even David Albelda in the team, Pellegrino has more than sufficient talent to toil with.
